Viewed from the earth, the Boomerang Nebula resembles its curved namesake, but when seen from the Hubble Space Telescope, it's more like an hourglass. The nebula is a reflecting cloud of dust and gas with two nearly symmetric cones of matter that is being ejected from a central star.
